Humane Society Pet Safety Program , Monday Sept. 13 at 10:30– Children will learn safe behavior around dogs, learn how to meet dogs safely, when not to approach a dog, and what to do if a dog appears aggressive.
Bonding Time Program Raffle, Thursday September 16 at 9:30- Jeri will be raffling away toys from her program

Story-time with Alexis – A brand new program beginning Monday Sept. 20
Keefer’s Kids: Tiptoe into Reading – TUESDAYS 10:30 a.m. in our Children’s Room. This is a special thematic program for our Children’s library. Ms. Keefer comes with an extensive teaching background and holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum Development. Her detailed, packed curriculum includes art, science, music and songs, math, shapes, and story-time.
Bilingual Signing Fiesta!- WEDNESDAYS from 10:30 a.m. in our Children’s Room. This new program combines two exciting activities to stimulate your child: BABY SIGNING and SPANISH LANGUAGE. Signing, singing, story-time, arts and crafts, playtime, and various activities will all be part of this weekly program.
Signing is a creative way for your children to communicate. It has been proven to increase a child’s reading and language abilities. Scientific studies suggest that typical children who learn to sign have higher IQ scores, are better adjusted, and read at an earlier age.
NEW! Story-time with Alexis Monday mornings at 9:00. Begins on Sept. 20th.
Our newest program. Introduce your child to reading, language, fine motor skills development, sensorial exercises, and art. Each morning begins with stories, then moves into art. A wonderful way to meet other parents while entertaining children. Preschool class from the Youth and Teen Center will be attending.
Monday and Tuesday Morning PRESCHOOL Children’s Programs – Starting again in October Join us for stories, science, music, crafts, computer games, and dancing. Some of our past programs include visits from the Old Globe theater, the Easter Bunny, Irish River Dancers, a Chinese Lion Dancer, Firefighters, Biscuit-the Storybook Dog, Cowboy Bob Singing the Songs of “Yesteryear”, a special program on India’s Culture with henna design, the San Diego Police Department, a professional Clog Dancer, and the Humane Society (bearded lizards, guinea pigs, dogs, rabbits) A noisy commotional, fun filled hour.
Bonding Time Educators – Parent & Child Playgroup – Thursday mornings from 9:30 a.m. Certified parent educators offer child development milestone tips while children sing, play, listen to stories, and interact with each other. Bubbles, arts and crafts, and crawling tubes are all part of the fun. Best of all, this is a great opportunity for busy moms to meet other parents.
Mommy and Me Playgroup. This group offers a support network for parents while children are inspired by stories, songs, crafts, parachute exercises, and a snack. A great way to meet other people while entertaining children.
Building on Parenting Skills Playgroup. Fridays. Children enjoy books, toys, and computers in our cozy Children’s Room while adults build a support network and chat with a social worker from the New Parent Support Program. Story-time and songs follow. Parenting tips offered. (Temporarily on break)
